I haven’t been concerned with politics or politicians for personal reasons. I will admit that I don’t trust most of them because they will say anything to win votes and supporters or push an agenda masterminded by forces with a clear objective unknown to the general public. President Obama seems to be the latest in a long line of puppets to gain support by voicing his affirmation of gay marriage.

This event was meant to bring to everyone’s attention the fact that God hates sexual perversion and idolatry. (Jude 1:7) God is a loving God, but He is also righteous, holy, and just. Jesus died on the cross for all our sinful acts. He paid the ultimate price to cleanse us from all unrighteousness and to atone for our sins so we could be reconciled with God. To support gay marriage is making a mockery of God’s Word, God’s design for marriage and family, and God’s holiness. “Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7)

Pride is blatant disobedience and rebellion against God and His authority. Pride justifies and rationalizes our sinful actions. Pride causes us to protest for our human rights to cover up our sins. Pride tells God that His Words, His righteousness, and His holiness doesn’t matter and that we can live apart from Him. “In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.” (Psalm 10:4)
Idolatry is worshipping something or someone more than God. Idolatry puts that something or someone before God or ahead of God. Sometimes we get our identities from what we idolize. As mentioned in Romans chapter 1 above, “They worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator.” God created the human race. We were created to worship only God and are commanded not to put other Gods before Him, but in our depravity, we believed in lies and started worshipping created things as Gods…people and the human body to be exact.
This leads to Lust of the flesh. Sins of the flesh offer only fleeting and short lived pleasure. They can only be enjoyed for a moment or a season, then the body ages and reality sets in. In the end, we are left with defiled bodies, broken lives, broken hearts, and a new crop of sins waiting to spring forth in generations to come. What God offers is wholesome, praiseworthy, and good. “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)

Unbelief comes when our darkened hearts have already turned away from God. We start believing lies and turn away from the truth. His words and promptings are no longer prevalent or relevant in our lives. Unbelief is like the advanced stages of Cancer where simple treatments are no longer effective. The hardened heart is shut off from God’s truth. We will wrestle against family and friends to justify our actions and beliefs. Unbelief can even lead a sinner to a place of hating others for their belief in God’s Word. Unfortunately, unbelief is not passive, but rather aggressive and quick to degenerate into the path of destruction; the war within leads to unrest, strife, and lack of peace for the unbeliever. “When the Lord heard them, he was furious…for they did not believe in God or trust in his deliverance.” (Psalm 78:21-22)
John 8:43-45
Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. Sexual Immorality is sexual involvement and gratification with someone outside the context of marriage. The bible commands us to flee/run from sexual immorality because it is a sin we commit against our own bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18). As Christians, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. We are polluting God’s Temple when we commit sexually immoral sins.
“Because the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, we have God himself living within us. This means we have a strength, a power, living within us to give us power over the sins of the flesh. We should expect sexual purity from Christians more than from those who are not, because they do not have God living within them as we do.” -- David Guzik
Gay marriage is such an abomination to God because it is not only sexually immoral in nature, but is also a perversion of what He intended for the institution of Marriage and Family. “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” (Hebrews 13:4)
Human Rights Activists do not live according to the scriptures because they don’t believe in it and think God’s laws and decrees are just archaic practices that are not relevant in today’s modern world. They are fighting for the rights of people for the here and now. As children of God, we are taught not to love this world or to submit to its teachings or practices. “…Those who use the things of the world as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.” (1 Corinthians 7:31) “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” (James 4:14)
God’s Word is clear about this issue. I cannot claim to be an expert in the Gay Lifestyle nor have I struggled with it or had fleeting thoughts about it. But I can offer my sympathy, compassion, and prayers to those who struggle with it because it is sin. I am a sinner like everyone else and had my share of struggles. I can attest that God’s Word and living by The Spirit were the only effective tools of deliverance for me. Years of therapy and attending church did not “fix” me. The following are steps that delivered me and helped me grow in Christ:
Dispel the Lies
Seek the truth in God’s Word. If we seek Him with all our heart, we will find Him. (Deuteronomy 4:29) One of the biggest lies I believed was to “Trust my heart...” What a huge deception! The bible tells us that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked to the core. (Jeremiah 17:9) We are to guard our hearts and not submit to its whims! If our hearts lie, we must not trust it. The only truth is Jesus Christ. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) There are so many lies that need to be exposed so that that the captive can be freed from bondage.
Psalm 5:9
Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with malice. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they tell lies.
Isaiah 32:6
For fools speak folly, their hearts are bent on evil. They practice ungodliness and spread error concerning the Lord.
Discover Your True Identity in Christ
My identity used to be wrapped up in my looks, who I was with, my accomplishments, my material possessions, and what others’ opinions were of me. I believed in so many lies about myself, that I was crippled by opinions and falsehoods swarming my mind. The petty things that the world values: looks, money, power, and popularity are an abomination in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15) I discovered that God looks deep into my heart, not my appearance. (1 Samuel 16:7) He cares more about my character than my accomplishments. (Psalm 106:3) The God who created the universe is very intimately involved with every fiber of my being. I was fearfully and wonderfully made. He saw my unformed body while I was still in the womb and He knows my every step and thought before I make it. His thoughts of me outnumber the grains of sand at the beach! (Psalm 139) I am the daughter of the King. I have been given authority to trample deadly snakes and overcome the enemy. (Luke 10:19) But best of all, I am loved beyond measure!
Ephesians 3:17-18
…And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Discover God’s Nature
God reveals himself to us in all 66 books of the bible. His power, His character, His sovereignty, His righteousness, and His love are displayed for all to see. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) It took me a while to get a basic understanding of God. Even if I spent my whole life walking with Him daily and studying all the facets of His being, I still wouldn’t be able to fully master His ways, His majestic power, or His sovereignty. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:7-9), yet He ushers our every step like a shepherd, meeting our every need (Psalm 23) and is very concerned where we spend eternity. (John 3:16)
Repent and Seek Deliverance
I lived in denial for a long time. I didn’t realize I was living a double life as a so called “Christian” and a secret life of sin. This took a toll on my spirit/soul and wreaked havoc on my emotions and personal life. I suffered from a traumatic back injury which took several months to recover from. I finally repented and placed all my idols at the feet of Jesus. “No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” (1 John 3:6) God was faithful by forgiving me and restoring my peace. He met me more than half way. He actually drew me to Himself. In my unrighteousness, I didn’t seek Him. The bible tells us that none of us are righteous and none seek Him. (Romans 3:11) I had to respond to His prompting to repent. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9)
Due to the strongholds and captive nature of the Homosexual spirit, total deliverance is absolutely necessary. This requires prayer and accountability: prayer with someone in authority to loose the chains of iniquity and to bind evil spirits; and accountability with a person and/or group who is familiar with Homosexual sin. “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18-19) The road for the true follower of Jesus Christ is paved in obedience, hardship, and dying to the self. “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (Mark 8:34)
Job 5:17-18
Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.

But if you will seek God earnestly and plead with the Almighty, if you are pure and upright, even now he will rouse himself on your behalf and restore you to your prosperous state.
Turn away from the World
The influence of the world is very strong. We live in a time of Babylonian influence, where carnality, lust, pride, covetousness, and attention-seeking are par for the course. It’s no wonder why people in this culture struggle so much with sin. Once I stopped listening to pop music, watching TV, and being a media sponge that ingested mainstream media into my brainwaves 24/7, the voice of God became clearer, allowing my mind to see the truth. If you feed your body junk food, you will reap an unhealthy body. If you feed your mind and spirit junk and lies, you will also reap unhealthy false thinking and behaviors. “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8) Since feasting mostly on God’s Word in the bible, Christian podcasts, Christian Fellowship, Christian books, and limited movies, my spirit is filled with more joy and peace that several hours of TV per day could never fill.
Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
Build a New Life in Christ
A true believer is marked by a regenerated and transformed life. The ability and desire to do what is right rather than do what the flesh desires is proof of our renewed spirit in Christ. “This is how we know who the children of god are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God;” (1 John 3:10) “Offering our bodies as living sacrifices is our true and proper worship.” (Romans 12:1)
Ephesians 4:17-24
So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Cultivate a New Love
It’s not enough to turn away from our sin. We must put something else in its place. Otherwise, the impure spirit that was cast out will return with a vengeance. (Luke 11:24) As we embrace our new identity, a new love for God and others will blossom as a result. In my search for the truth, the biggest revelation I uncovered was God’s intimate love for me. I uncover His relentless and eternal love for me daily. This beats any romantic relationship I have ever experienced in my life! Over time, this overflow of love will cause humility to set in and caring for others will be in the forefront of our minds. We will see the needs of others more clearly as God fills us with His love. It also gives us something other than ourselves to focus on.
God’s Word is concise and true. No legislation or military force can penetrate or overthrow God’s Word or judgment. Even if Gay Marriage was legalized all over the world and all religious sects stopped rallying against it, God’s Word still stands against it. Even if corruptible man accepts it and turns a blind eye to it, God doesn’t! His standards are what we all should live by and measure ourselves by. Not the world’s! Measuring ourselves and living according to the world’s standards is not only wrong, but will send us to an eternal damnation. God does not grade on a curve, but by His Words that He commands all of us to meditate on day and night, so that we will succeed. (Joshua 1:8)
It is my sincere hope and prayer that what I have shared here will convict and cause many to repent and see the love of God shining through the dark clouds overhead. “Be merciful to those who doubt: snatch others from the fire and save them…” (Jude1:22-23) Here is your life raft. God wants to snatch you out of the eternal fire and save you. Don’t trade a fleeting/temporary pleasure for your eternal life. He already paid the ransom for you. You were worth the price, because His love for you knows no bounds! All you have to do is receive Him and turn away from your ways. He has orchestrated your life to sit long enough to read this article. This could be the first day of your freedom or you could spend eternity regretting the decision you made this very moment. The choice is yours. He is waiting in the wings with open arms to celebrate your homecoming!
