Plan of SALVATION: God's Pursuit of Us

Why is this important?

Besides choosing the right spouse, choosing Jesus Christ is the most important decision in our lives.

This is what we were made for. To choose Him and worship him. I know this all sounds oversimplified, but it's the truth. Our lives are designed to usher us into a relationship with Him where we are dependent on Him and His power.

Did You Notice?
If you look back on your life, you will realize that God has been pursuing you all along. He pursues us like a relentless admirer, almost like a stalker, but in a good and loving way. He doesn't bring harm or destruction, but love and forgiveness. He shows us glimpses of Himself through the circumstances in our lives. He makes sure that we have a full view of Him so that when the time is right we will choose Him. He courts us like a suitor, wooing us, and revealing Himself to us. He knows that we ourselves wouldn't pursue Him. He is prepared to get rejected and have the door slammed in His face because of our selfishness and unrighteousness, but His love is relentless. He is jealous for our attention and allegiance. He traded His life for ours, so we won't have to suffer as He did. Now that's love.

The Bible warns us that the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (1Corinthians 1:18). Open your heart to this loving God before your eyes are permanently shut. He longs to have fellowship with you and walk with you, bringing you peace, hope, and love.

He gives us this ability because He knows that there is warfare waging against us and fighting for our allegiance. He is also fighting for us and on our behalf, but He gives us the full right to choose. He doesn't want us to choose Him under the wrong pretenses or under duress. Choosing Him is a lifelong decision, not a one time decision made on an emotional whim.

This world is filled with dark powers, injustice, and pain. Jesus came to give us life, so that we can experience it to the full in spite of the adversities we face daily.

I highly recommend that you read my article titled, Is JESUS Your Password?  in its entirety when you get a chance.  I use the analogy of using JESUS as your password due to the internet and electronic age we live in.  In the end, He is all we need especially in these perilous times.  If you want to get a sneak peak at what is coming in the near future, read The Wicked One: Is On His Way to get the gist of what is coming down the pike.

Is JESUS Your Password is a simplified version of the Gospel and the Plan of Salvation.
Here is a Summary:

7 Reasons Why to Make JESUS Your Password
1 - Jesus Fulfilled Prophecy
2 - He Paid For You
3 - Hell is Real
4 - He is The Only Way
5 - If You Are Not For Him, You Are Against Him
6 - You Will Bow Down and Confess He is God
7 - The Ending Has Already Been Determined

Steps to Make Him Your Password
1 - Confess
Admit you are a Sinner someone who is corrupt and corruptible. You need an incorruptible God to save you from evil practices. You are a finite being with a finite end.  Today you can control what you eat, wear, watch, etc., but you cannot control the number of your days.  You cannot control what happens to you after you die; only God will determine where you go.

Admit that you are not righteous on your own.  You need a Savior to pay for your sins and cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

Romans 10: 9-10
...If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

2 - Receive Him and Invite Him into your life by saying a Prayer like this:

Lord Jesus,
Come into my life.  I am a sinful person in need of a Savior.  Thank you for dying for my sins and loving me before I even knew you.  Thank you for your relentless pursuit of me. Please forgive me for all my wrongdoings and for rejecting you and Your Word.  I repent and turn from my old ways.  I believe with all my heart that you have forgiven me and have cleansed me from all unrighteousness through the shedding of your blood.  From this day forward I promise to turn to you for all my needs.  Be the Lord of my life.  I believe that you came to not only give me salvation, but also life more abundantly.  For this I am eternally grateful.
In Jesus’ Name,
AMEN!

If you said this prayer in total surrender and contrition, Congratulations!  You have just made JESUS your Password!  You have been saved by Faith and not of your own works.  All we have to do is receive His free gift.  Jesus already did all the work on Calvary.  Don’t forget that! What you do afterwards, is your statement of faith and obedience to Him as His disciple.

3 - Obey Him by becoming a Disciple
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” (Matthew 16:24)

Steps to Becoming a Disciple of Christ
1 - Read the Bible  and start attending bible studies.

Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

2 - Attend a Bible Based church that teaches sound doctrine.
Making JESUS your password means taking up your cross and following Him, even if it means leaving your non-bible believing/teaching church. This life is not about popularity or being accepted by man or belonging to a religion.  The only acceptance that really matters is being accepted by God into heaven through Christ.

If finding the right church is not happening as quickly, start off by listening to podcasts. Here is a list of recommendations: Voddie Baucham, James Macdonald, Eric Mason, Paul Washer, and Tim Conway.

Matthew 10:32
Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

3 - You Are Made New
As you start reading your bible and spending real time with God, He will reveal many things to you like what you are doing wrong.  He will convict your heart through The Holy Spirit.  He will give you a new heart that can discern good from bad, and lies from truth.  You will no longer enjoy your old vices.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

4 - Fellowship with Other Believers
As a new believer, you need to fellowship with other believers to encourage you, lift you up, and pray for you.  They are your new family.  If you want to succeed and keep from falling away from the faith, you must stay close to the Family of God.  In these end times, nothing delights the devil more than to cause a child of God to fall from the faith. Those who have fallen have one thing in common.  They no longer fellowship with other believers and have reverted back to their old patterns. They justify and rationalize why following the Christian faith is too hard or not convenient.  This is why Jesus said, take up your cross and follow me.  Walking in Faith requires the power of the Holy Spirit and fellowship with other believers.

Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
