How to Prepare for a Lockdown or Catastrophe

The recent bombings caused the city of Boston and surrounding cities to be under Lockdown for a day.  I recently spoke to a woman whose friend lived in the Boston area and they were pretty much stuck in their homes for the duration.  This means, everyone had to remain within their living environments. No driving,grocery shopping, banking, doctor’s appointments, etc.  Those who were due to be released from the hospitals were detained and remained in the hospital.

Although this event was tragic killing three and injuring 132, this is only the tip of the iceberg compared to the catastrophes that are underway.  I don’t mean to sound like an alarmist, but these Staged “Events” are not only NOT going to cease, but they are precursors to what lies ahead for Americans.  I’ve written about this in past articles, but frankly I don’t want to beat a dead horse.  The latest event doesn’t come as a shock to me after all the research I uncovered in the last 18 months.  Since 2006, I have been alerting close friends to the mass deception the U.S. Government has been executing since its inception; but many refuse to see and listen to the truth.  Many, including Christians would rather believe in lies just so they can ignore the warning signs.  The truth will only disrupt their homogenized, fluoridated, coma induced television watching, ear tickling on Sundays cocoons.  Mark my words: EVERYONE’S lives will not only be disrupted, but will be driven to their knees in compliance to the Evildoers in this world.  The longer you stay asleep, numb, and/or oblivious to the truth is a determining factor of the distance you will FALL from in your imaginary “Comfort Zone.”

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Enforced Lockdown for weeks

All electricity and water could be cut off

Cell phone service could be dead

Banks, Groceries, and all public transportation closed

Lock ALL doors and windows

Ask law enforcement for ID before opening the door

Stay in the interior rooms of the house

If you hear gunfire/explosions, stay in the bathroom

Have all your contacts printed on paper and place somewhere you can find easily

Identification papers
Copies of documents like your passport, driver’s license, social security card, birth certificates, and others are important to include in your emergency kit.

Insurance papers
If a natural disaster struck, how would you get in contact with your insurance company? It’s a good idea to have contact information for your insurance company and bank. You should include account numbers.

Be sure to include photos, descriptions and other documentation about the items in your home. Some families have even taken video tours of their home to show proof of them owning certain items in their home.

The #1 Preparedness Item or Tool is a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Not just any relationship, but a tight knit one where you read His Word daily and pray to Him constantly.  You’re communicating with Him daily, like you would with a spouse.  He provides many promises to those who abide in Him.  A relationship with Christ Jesus is priceless!

7 Reasons Why JESUS is Your BEST Companion during a Catastrophic Event:

1 - He Brings Peace

You can imagine a catastrophic event could be highly stressful.  With everything around you breaking down and trying to gather yourself and your family in one place can be overwhelming and fraught with fears.  Your emotions and adrenaline could be at full throttle.  This could cause a major energy drain to anyone.  Jesus is the Prince of Peace providing Peace and serenity to anyone who trusts in Him.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

2 - He Guides You

He will alert your spirit to prepare and be ready.  When you don’t know where to turn as your world collapses around you, He will be there to guide you and give you instructions if you PAUSE long enough to listen.

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

3 - He Listens to and Answers your Prayers

He hears the prayers of the righteous.  He hears the cries of His children.  

1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

Isaiah 65:24

It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

4 - He Protects You

There is no greater shield or protection than God.  He is more powerful than a bulletproof vest.  He is more effective than the Secret Service.  He not only controls the elements and circumstances, but He also intervenes on behalf of His children if He has to.  This means He will go ahead of your errors and bad decisions to protect you.  He does this already for us, especially when we drive.  How many near misses have you been through that you are aware of?   There many more near misses that you aren’t aware of that God had to intervene on your behalf!

Psalm 34:19-20

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.

5 - He Empowers You

When bombs are dropping and bullets are whizzing by, sit still and know that He is God and is in control of everything.   He will give you the power and the “Know How” to navigate through the worst of events.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.

6 - He Will Rescue You

As long as you hold fast to His Word, He will rescue you from the hands of your enemies.  

Psalm 37:39-40

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.

And the Lord shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them, because they trust in Him.

7 - He Provides All Your Needs

Even if you are running out of supplies, He will provide your needs before you could even ask Him.  

Matthew 6:31-32

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Philippians 4:19

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Jesus is a Helper, Provider, Protector, and your Source of Strength in times of need. Beyond that, He anticipates our needs before we even ask for them.  Many of His Promises automatically apply whether we ask for them or not.  The KEY is to open ourselves to having a close relationship with Him.  Don’t ignore His calls or knocks, He is pursuing you!  When everything and everyone FAILS you, He is the only source and person who will be there in EVERYTHING!  His Power and Love will get you through today, tomorrow’s catastrophe, and eternity; just OPEN the door!

Revelation 3:20
